A short bio about Sean...


Meet Sean McIlroy, a dedicated and experienced personal trainer whose passion for fitness began in his youth and has flourished over nearly three decades. A lifelong footballer with 29 years of playing experience, including a seven-year stint in Australia, Sean combines his love for sport with expertise in weightlifting to offer well-rounded training grounded in both cardio and strength disciplines.
Sean earned his BSc (Hons) in Health & Exercise from the University of the West of Scotland and launched his personal training career in 2010, working in a clinical Pilates studio in Australia. Since then, he’s amassed 14 years of professional experience, splitting them evenly between Australia and Scotland—seven years in each country

Sean operates SMCPT, a private, well-equipped gym in Kilwinning, Ayrshire. His facility boasts a blend of weights, resistance machines, cardio equipment, and ample open floor space—perfect for one-to-one or small group sessions in a private, supportive setting.
He champions an inclusive philosophy: fitness is for everyone, regardless of age, gender, fitness level, or lifestyle. Sean’s approach is centered on creating effective, sustainable habits tailored to each individual’s goals and capabilities
